Imphal: A Cabinet meeting held on Friday in the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat decided to summon the next Assembly Session from July 31, 2024.
Speaking to the media at the residence of the Health & Family Welfare and IPR Minister at Lamphel Sanakeithel, Imphal West, Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh informed that 43 listed agendas and some unlisted agendas were discussed during the Cabinet session.
During the briefing, the Minister recalled that the last sitting of the Assembly Session was held on March 5, 2024. He informed that the Cabinet approved the bifurcation of manpower, particularly for ministerial staff and VDF personnel, in respect to seven newly created districts across the State.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal for amending “The Manipur Private School (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2017” and framing “The Manipur Private School (Registration and Regulation) Rules, 2024.” Additionally, a proposal for framing separate Manipur Health Service (Dental) Rules and an exemption from consultation/concurrence with the MPSC was approved.
A fresh notification for filling up vacant direct recruitment posts in the Directorate of Economics & Statistics was also decided upon. Reflecting on complaints of irregularities, the Cabinet instructed the concerned Directorate to cancel previous recruitment results if irregularities are found and initiate a new process for engagement.
Minister Ranjan mentioned that the allotment of land to the Airport Authority of India at Imphal Airport has been approved, clarifying that this is not an acquisition of new land but land already within the campus. Further approvals included the allotment of land for constructing an AYUSH dispensary at 17-Chaobok Village, Lilong Sub-Division, Thoubal, and a Court Complex for the District & Sessions Judge in Churachandpur.
He also highlighted the need to strengthen the Manipur Secretariat’s Records and Library Section, which was among the discussed agendas.
Additionally, the Minister informed about the agenda regarding the E-auction of fancy registration numbers for vehicles during registration in the VAHAN portal, allowing individuals to choose preferred number plates through the E-auction process.
Out of the 43 listed agendas, some were deferred, he added.
