Imphal: As part of the ongoing ‘War against drugs’ in Manipur, Kakching police arrested two persons along with a huge amount of drugs on Monday.
The accused persons have been identified as Manglalmuon Gangte, 35, son of Paoneimang Gangte of Moreh ward no.2, Mission Veng, Tengnoupal District and Houminsem Singsong, 25, son of Henkhogin Singson of Zalenphai village, Moreh, Tengnoupal.
They were arrested while a police team conducted a surprise check at Laimanai Chingjin.
Approximately 1.090 kg of heroin powder no. 4 which was concealed inside the fuel tank and the right-side panel below the body of a Maruti Suzuki vehicle bearing Registration Number MN02B-1095 in which they were travelling was found.
The arrested persons along with the seized articles were handed over to Kakching Police Station for taking up further necessary legal action, as per a press note from the PRO Cell, Manipur Police.
