Imphal:Independent MLA Sapam Nishikanta of Keishamthong has decided to support the BJP.
Nishikanta handed over the letter of support to BJP State Chief A Sharda.
BJP has 32 MLAs and with the support of the Independent MLA, it has 33 MLAs. N Biren Singh indicated that the BJP was open to the formation of an alliance with like-minded parties.
Interestingly, Nishikant and over 3500 members of Team Nishikant including two Corporators and one Ward Member of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) had resigned from BJP last month after he was denied a BJP ticket.
