Imphal: Governor of Manipur La. Ganesan appealed to the people to understand the importance of ayurvedic medicines to prevent diseases and to enable all to lead a healthy life.
He was speaking at the distribution function of Ayurvedic medicines kits to the employees and security personnel working in Raj Bhavan held Thursday at the Darbar Hall.
Governor Ganesan said, India is proud of having Ayurveda as a means of treatment, healing and prolonging life from ancient days. In view of such importance, a separate ministry has already been set up and steps have been taken up to bring awareness to people. All forms of treatment begins with Ayuveda and people should try to understand its importance.
He further said that AYUSH medicines prevent diseases by boosting our immune system and therefore, more particularly, in these days of Covid pandemic, it will be very helpful to use immune boosting medicines formulated by AYUSH. People should try to encourage the uses of AYUSH medicines along with allopathy and other forms of treatment, he added.
Dr. A. Guneshwor Sharma, Director, AYUSH said, AYUSH medicines has a very specific role in treatment and prevention of any diseases by promoting our health. Health promotion is the best option to fight any ailment in our body, he added.
Governor distributed AYUSH medicine kits to the officers, officials, staffs and security personnel working in the Raj Bhavan.
