Imphal: Governor of Manipur La. Ganesan has greeted the team of Akhil Bharatiya Poorv Sainik Sewa Parishad (ABPSSP) coming down to Imhal in connection with the observance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Moirang Utsav 2022 which will be held on Thursday at INA Memorial at Moirang.
It may be mentioned that Colonel Shaukat Malik of the Indian National Army hoisted the Tricolour at Moirang for the first time on Indian soil on April 14, 1944. The observance will be held in commemoration of the day.
Talking to the representatives of ABPSSP, Governor said, that the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to all-round development and welfare of the people.
He said, ex-servicemen, are those who once served the country in different capacities. Any issues relating to ex-servicemen should be addressed and if required will inform the Centre, he added.
Expressing confidence that peace will prevail in Manipur, Governor said, the scenario has changed and a peaceful environment will prevail as there is a committed government at the Centre. Governor also hosted a lunch for the visiting representatives of ex-servicemen at Raj Bhavan.
Lt. General (Retd.) Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi, President of ABPSSP said, 40 ex-servicemen from 29 branches of ABPSSP will participate in Moirang Utsav 2022. The Parishad will work for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their widows in the country.
Earlier on Wednesday, Governor Ganesan interacted with the representatives and bikers of ‘North East on Wheels’ at Raj Bhavan. He also thanked the team for their initiative to know the beauty of the North East and asked them to inform those who have not been in North East.
The expedition team was flagged off from Guwahati on April 9 and will go throughout North East. The expedition is being organized by the Amazing Namaste Foundation as a part of the 75th Years of India’s Independence- Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav.
