Manipur Governor, CM Biren extend greetings on Janmashtami

Imphal: Governor of Manipur, La Ganesan, Chief Minister N Biren Singh greeted the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Kishna Janmashtami which falls on August 19. 

Governor Ganesan in his message said that the festival of Krishna Janmastami celebrates the birth o9f Lord Krishna and symbolises the divine richness of “Karamyogi” the way to attain spiritual heights through ceaseless effort to achieve excellence in one’s work.

“Lord Krishna’s universal message, as given to us through the Bhagwat Gita, has guided us through the centuries to stand firm in the fight for truth and justice against all odds”, Governor Ganesan added.

He called on all to remember Lord Krishna’s teachings and work to promote peace, cooperation and mutual goodwill among all sections of our diverse society.

In his message to the people of the state, “especially followers and devotees of Lord Krishna”, said that Krishna Jnamashtami is the celebration of the occasion of the birth of Shri Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu.

“I pray Krishna’s philosophy, which is timeless and universal, will guide our people and the State towards a more peaceful future filled with development and communal harmony”.

He further added that, “Shri Krishan gave us the most sacred teachings of Ghawat Gita. May his message and philosophy dispel the darkness and light the lamp of wisdom in everyone’s heart”.
