Imphal: The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, on Saturday visited Kangpokpi and Senapati districts and inaugurated two Information Technology (IT) Centres in both the districts. The Governor also reviewed the overall progress of development schemes in the districts.
In Kangpokpi district, the Governor visited Presidency College, Motbung and inaugurated an IT Centre in the college campus. The IT Centre has been developed under the funding of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Governor also interacted with the college students. Later, he went to Kangpokpi District Headquarters where he chaired a review meeting with the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Superintendent of Police (SP) and other District Level Officers (DLOs).
Governor Bhalla inquired about the implementation of various schemes, such as the Jal Jeevan Mission, projects under the New Development Bank (NDB), healthcare, education, etc. Under Nikshay Mitra, the Governor adopted five TB patients and distributed fruit baskets. He also questioned the NHIDCL officials about the progress of the ongoing national highway development projects.

The Governor then visited Senapati District Headquarters and inaugurated an IT Centre in the Deputy Commissioner’s office complex. He also chaired a review meeting of the DC, SP, and DLOs and inquired about the prevailing law and order situation. Governor Bhalla also heard about the issues faced by the district administration. Representatives of the Indian Red Cross Society, Senapati District Branch, also met with the Governor and apprised him about activities in the district.
In both the districts, the Governor interacted with representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and heard their grievances. They also submitted memoranda to the Governor.
Later in the afternoon, Governor witnessed the final of 4th Edition of Lt. Col. (L) Robert TA Memorial Open Football Tournament at Astro Turf Ground, Senapati.
