Imphal: Showing solidarity with protesting doctors across the nation, doctors at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, JNIMS, Imphal Thursday held a candlelight march over the repeated delay in conducting NEET-PG 2021 counselling as part of their nation-wide agitation.

Organised by the Resident Doctors Association, protesting doctors also strongly condemned the brutal manhandling of the peacefully protesting doctors in the national capital on last Monday.

They said that there is an excessive shortage of manpower in all the hospitals countrywide as one whole batch of resident doctors have not joined for nearly a year now.

The currently existing resident doctors who are serving since COVID 1st wave, 2nd wave & who will also be serving in this impending 3rd wave are facing immense trouble and are totally exhausted physically, mentally and emotionally, they added.

Conducting this pending NEET-PG counselling will reinforce the nation with at least 40,000 to 50,000 resident doctors. Therefore, we request the concerned authorities to conduct the NEET-PG 2021 counselling at the earliest possible, the doctors demanded.
