Manipur Cricket Association donates 40 D-type Oxygen cylinders to Manipur govt

The cylinders, worth some Rs 8 lakh, were handed over by a team of the Cricket Association led by its president Rajkumar Imo to the Director of State Health Service for the welfare of the people of Manipur.

Imphal:  The Manipur Cricket Association has donated at least 40 D-type Oxygen cylinders to the state government to support its Covid-19 pandemic response here on Friday.

The cylinders, worth some Rs 8 lakh, were handed over by a team of the Cricket Association led by its president Rajkumar Imo to the Director of State Health Service for the welfare of the people of Manipur.

Imo, who is also the MLA of Sagolband Assembly constituency, said that Manipur has lost hundreds of people and thousands are infected in this second wave of Covid-19 that ravaged the country and state over the past two months. All sections of society, Imo said, need to come together and fight back this dreaded disease by getting vaccinated. He also appealed to people to wear face mask, regular use of hand sanitizer and maintaining social and physical distancing.

It may be noted that RK Imo had earlier donated 10 ICU Portable Ventilators amounting to around Rs 22 lakh to the state government.

All the office bearers of MNCA namely, Laithangbam Binoy Singh, Vice-President; Singam Priyananda Singh, Secretary; Leishangthem Ronel Singh, Treasurer, and Konthoujam Robin Singh, Joint Secretary were present during the distribution of the Oxygen Cylinders.
