Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister’s Secretariat Tuesday denied media reports that its official website – www.cmmanipur.gov.in has been temporarily suspended by the Election Commission of India for alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
It may be noted that a large number of local YouTube channels and other northeast based portals reported shutting down of the CM’s website.
“It’s reported in various media platforms that the official website of the CM’s office has been temporarily… The above position is incorrect. The website has been temporarily suspended voluntarily by the Chief Minister’s Office so as to observe compliance with provision of the Model Code of Conduct and not on account of any instruction of the ECI for any violation,” a statement of the CM Office said.
Media bodies are advised to refrain from publication of unverified information as news, as the same may invite legal action, the statement further warned.
