Imphal: Rajesh Agrawal, Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur has conveyed his deepest condolences on the death of a police personnel during poll duty in Churachandpur district Monday.
Havildar Naorem Ibochouba Singh from Kakching Labungo Pareng, Kakching District, was detailed for poll duty at 55/37 Senvon (C) Polling Station, Tipaimukh AC. It is suspected to be accidental firing from his service weapon as per UD Case No.01/2022 PBG-PS u/s 174 CrPC dated 28th February, 2022, said a statement by the Office of CEO.
The dead body was recovered by concerned officials with the help of Rapid Response team (RRT) and brought to Imphal by helicopter and deposited at JNIMS morgue. One Sub-Inspector (IO) and a Magistrate accompanied the dead body.
