Manipur celebrates 75 years of Independence

The ceremonial function will be held at 1st Bn. Manipur Rifles Parade Ground at 9:30 am where the Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh will hoist the Tri-colour National flag of India.

Imphal: State will join the country-wide celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence tomorrow. 

The ceremonial function will be held at 1st Bn. Manipur Rifles Parade Ground at 9:30 am where the Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh will hoist the Tri-colour National flag of India.

Different Contingents of Police and students will take part in the parade. Medals/Prizes/ Awards for distinguished service will be distributed by the Chief Guest. Four cultural troupes organized by the Arts & Cultural Department will also perform during the function.

After the ceremonial function at the 1st Bn. Manipur Rifles Parade Ground, Floral tributes will be paid at the memorial park of  Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu at Keishampat and Mantripukhri respectively.

The main celebration programme will continue at Hapta Kangjeibung from 11:30 am where Florals tributes to freedom fighters will also be paid. The celebration will also feature cultural performances by different dance troupes including the Rhythms of Manipur. Medalists of the Commonwealth Games, 2022, will also be honoured during the celebration.
