Manipur: Bishnupur reviews rate chart with political parties

Speaking at the training session, Ejaj Hassan, AC to DC Bishnupur appealed to all political parties to strictly adhere to the model code of conduct for free and fair conduct of the upcoming election in the district.

Bishnupur: In view of the upcoming state assembly election, the District Election Office, Bishnupur Wednesday held a meeting with representatives of recognized political parties of the district at the Conference Hall of Bishnupur DC complex. 

During the meeting, district Election Expenditure Monitoring officials reviewed the fixation of rates for different items for election expenditure for the ensuing election with political party representatives. Rates for hiring of PA system with speakers, hiring of generators, videography by SLR and small camera, erection of gates/arches among others were reviewed in the meeting. Following feedback and suggestions from party representatives, rates for few items were unanimously amended in tune with fluctuating commodity prices. Officials informed that the final rate chart for the district will be published on 2nd January.

Later, training of political parties was also conducted covering Model Code of Conduct, Election Expenditure and Postal Ballot. Speaking at the training session, Ejaj Hassan, AC to DC Bishnupur appealed to all political parties to strictly adhere to the model code of conduct for free and fair conduct of the upcoming election in the district. 

Ejaj Hassan stated that drivers and handymen utilized for poll duty will be ensured voting rights. He also informed that Postal Ballots will be provided to the elderly and Persons With Disabilities voters.

District Nodal Officer, EEM Bishnupur, Assistant Election Observers and other district election officials attended the meeting cum training program.
