Imphal: Troops of Assam Rifles arrested two PLA insurgents here on Tuesday. The troops also seized five grenades, three pistols, three IEDs and three detonators from Telipati and Heirok areas, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
Meanwhile, Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles foiled cross-border smuggling of gold biscuits at Permanent Vehicle Check Post, Khudengthabi on Tuesday.
During routine checking, the troops of the AR recovered six suspected gold biscuits, worth Rs 54.11 lakhs from two female individuals. The gold biscuits were well-concealed in their handbags.
The female individuals were travelling from Moreh to Imphal, said a statement.
