Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar on Saturday implored that the banking institutions make the process of loan sanctioning and disbursement under the state government’s credit-linked subsidy schemes – Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana and Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana “more systematic and user friendly”.
Launched by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in September last year, both the schemes are being implemented with government subsidy, bank credit and beneficiary contribution in the ratio of 45:45:10 to boost the agriculture and horticulture sectors.
“In a review meeting on Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY) and Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana (ANBY) with stakeholders including representatives of banks and government officials, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar solicited that the loan process on ANKY and ANBY should be made more systematic and user friendly,” an official said.
“For ease of beneficiaries and to avoid delays and confusions in the loan process, it was decided that the entire loan process should be made online for ANKY and ANBY from the next financial year onwards,” PRO to Chief Secretary, Tokmem Pertin, said.
The responsibility to develop the software (for the purpose) has been given to the Deputy Commissioners of Lohit, Tawang and Papum Pare districts who will be assisted by a team of officers from National Informatics Centre (NIC), State’s IT Department as well as Agriculture and Horticulture Departments.
Kumar suggested the software should be general in nature so that other departments could use it for the beneficiary-oriented schemes and programmes of the Government of India and the State Government under their respective departments.
The Chief Secretary directed the DCs, who attended the meeting through video-conferencing, to review the status of ANKY and ANBY in their respective districts on a daily basis and make these flagship schemes of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh successful. It is to mention that a sum of Rs 32.11 crore worth of loans under ANKY and ANBY was disbursed on February 5 last to different SHGs and individuals across the state in the presence of the Chief Minister and Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Tage Taki.
Today’s meeting was attended by Agriculture Production Commissioner Rajeev Verma, Agriculture and Horticulture Secretary Bidol Tayeng, Regional Manager of SBI (Itanagar) DK Mahato, senior officers of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, State Co-operative Apex Bank and others.
