Major fire in a remote Arunachal village

The devastating fire broke out around 9 am at Pangin (Moruk) village under Pangin Police Station area in Siang district. There was, however, no report of any human casualty.

Itanagar: At least three houses were reduced to ashes and six others badly damaged in a major fire at a remote village in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, police said.

The devastating fire broke out around 9 am at Pangin (Moruk) village under Pangin Police Station area in Siang district. There was, however, no report of any human casualty.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, the police said. On getting the information, the district administration has rushed a team to the fire accident site to take stock of the situation.

The team, headed by Extra Assistant Commissioner (Pangin) Vijoy Tamuk and the District Disaster Management Officer, distributed rations, blankets and other essential items to the fire-affected families for their immediate relief, the sources said.
