Mah: Marathwada registers 45 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported 11 new cases and 2 deaths, Osmanabad with 14 cases, Aurangabad with 8 cases, Latur 5 cases, Nanded 4 cases and Jalna had 3 cases.

Aurangabad: Marathwada region of Maharashtra state has been coming down significantly and only 45 new cases and two deaths are reported during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Monday.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported 11 new cases and 2 deaths, Osmanabad with 14 cases, Aurangabad with 8 cases, Latur 5 cases, Nanded 4 cases and Jalna had 3 cases.

While no new positive cases were reported from Hingoli and Parbhani district, they added.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours,1,172 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,11,078.

The state also registered 20 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,40,216.

Meanwhile,1,399 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 64,50,585 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.57 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

At present, there are 16,658 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
