Pherzawl: With the arrival of the last polling party today,theStrong Room located at the DC Office Complex was sealed today in the presence of political party representatives.
Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used for the 2nd Phase Lok Sabha were secured in the Strong Rooms which are under 24/7 surveillance by Central Armed Police Forces. Unauthorized access within the high-security vicinity is also strictly prohibited
Meanwhile, the voter turnout in yesterday’s polling was 77 per cent in the 55-Tipaimukh while the 56-Thanlon recorded an 83.94 per cent turnout, bringing the overall poll percentage of the district to 80.45 per cent.
Despite some minor technical glitches reported on poll day,voting was successfully concluded by 4 pm on Friday in all the polling stations of the district.
