Local clubs should play the role of moulding youth: Minister Satyabrata

The minister was speaking at the inaugural function of the Konthoujam Makha Youth Development Association(KMYDA) club building Imphal West on Thursday.

Imphal: CAF & PD Minister Th Satyabrata said that there is an urgent need for local clubs to play an important role in moulding the citizens and youth of a Kendra whether it be in the field of sports or education or any other sector. Clubs in a particular locality has a significant role to play in shaping the local community for a better society in future.

The minister was speaking at the inaugural function of the Konthoujam Makha Youth Development Association(KMYDA) club building Imphal West on Thursday.

Satyabrata also highlighted that with the coming of the new BJP-led government has given full support to clubs in a  new innovative way. If the clubs function effectively, it will pave the way for the locality and the whole state to grow positively towards overall development. “Let’s value the new club building by taking better decisions, organising and holding discussions. The clubs has a big role to play in shaping the society”, he also said.

MLA Konthoujam A/C, Dr Sapam Ranjan appreciated the function of the local clubs in tackling Covid crisis, mobilising the people and taking up steps to defend the deadly disease. The number of the fresh Covid positive cases keep increasing day by day and Manipur needs to take extra precaution taking into consideration the crucial situation and figures in other states of the country like Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. “Lets be very careful and take personal hygiene on top of government remedial actions. Let’s follow SOP norms, keep 6 feet social-distancing and use hand sanitisers, masks regularly to prevent from this virus”, he stated.

Dr Ranjan also appealed the masses present at the gathering to undertake vaccination while the Tikka Utsav is happening in Manipur as it is quite safe and free from side effects or other serious repercussions. “Let’s try to avoid crowded places as far as possible and practicable to curb the pandemic”, he also said.

Member Yurembam Zilla Parishad, Thingujam Nilamani said that club is the appropriate place and platform where discussions about important issues like drugs menace, alcohol addiction, sports, education, entertainment and other developmental projects of a Kendra can be held.

Meanwhile, a proposal was submitted to MLA Ranjan that include introduction of LED lights, loudspeaker set and gym equipment and construction of retaining walls and fencing of the KMYDA club.

Minister Satyabrata donated Rs.30,000 to assist the welfare activities of the club during the function.

Pradhan Konthoujam Gram Panchayat, H Manisana Singh, SDO/BDO, Phungyar, KG Daigong and Proprietor LYS Group, LRatan Khuman attended the function amongst others.
