Let’s save our future from drugs: Manipur Health Minister

The Minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the One Day Awareness Programme On Drug Abuse Prevention, which was jointly organized by Bamdiar Apunba Meira Paibi and Chingthang Lairembi V.L.F Bamdiar in Konthoujam Assembly Constituency.

Imphal: Health and IPR Minister Dr. S. Ranjan Singh has appealed to all to come forward to save the generation from drugs. 

The Minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the One Day Awareness Programme On Drug Abuse Prevention, which was jointly organized by Bamdiar Apunba Meira Paibi and Chingthang Lairembi V.L.F Bamdiar in Konthoujam Assembly Constituency.

Ranjan in his speech maintained that the ill effects of drug abuse has caused a serious threat to human society. The government under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has launched the campaign of  War on Drugs with the objective to curb and control drug abuse and its menace. Awareness programs have been organized at different levels in this regard.

 He said that the government alone can not solve the problem of drug abuse even if trying at the best. Cooperation of the public, civil societies, NGOs, parents and other related stakeholders is very much needed. Our society will sink one day if we do not solve this issue at the earliest, he added.

Regarding the speedy increase of COVID cases in the state, minister Ranjan informed that the government has surveyed most of the health facilities and there is preparedness for talking this wave. He said that taking booster doses have been granted by the government to those who have attained the age of 18, it is a good news minister added. 

The Minister appealed to all to take precautionary measures by maintaining SOPs prescribed by the government earlier.  He also expressed his appreciation to the organizers for organizing such very important awareness events.
