Nashik: A leopard was killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle at Mohdari Ghat in Sinnar taluka of the district on the Nashik-Pune highway.
The incident happened Wednesday night.
According to the forest department, Wednesday night the leopard was crossing the Nashik-Pune highway, and at time unknown , a vehicle hit the leopard and killed him. The leopard died on the spot due to severe injuries.
The vehicles passing on the highway immediately informed the officials of the forest department about this incident. After that, forest range officer Manisha Jadhav and the servants immediately came to the spot and inspected it.
After this, the leopard was taken to Mohdari Forest Park. The forest officials have informed that the last rites of the leopard will be performed.
