Kozhikode: A 28-year-old migrant labourer hailing from Assam was strangled to death by using a belt around the neck by two other Assamese youths at Mayan beach near Koyilandy barbour on Wednesday.
Police arrested two Assamese coworkers in this connection.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Dulu Rajbonghsi employed at Koyilandy harbour.
Police arrested Manoranjan and Lakshi, both are also engaged as harbour labourers at Koyilandy.
The incident took place around 0030 hrs following a verbal clash among the three friends after consuming drugs and the extreme step conduct in an inebriated state, police said.
The other labourers alerted the police and the police took the victim to Koyilandy taluk hospital but doctors declared brought dead.
Police nabbed one accused from the spot and later caught the second accused from a nearby beach in the wee hours of Wednesday.
