Kuki militants nabbed with drug in Manipur

The vehicle was signalled to stop at Pallel PS gate but it tried to escape after which it was pursued and detained at a short distance from the PS gate.

Imphal: Two Kuki militants under Suspension of Operation (SOO) with the government were nabbed by Manipur Police on Tuesday with drugs.

Police said 272 gram of suspected Heroin powder were seized near Pallel Police station, Kakching district.

The vehicle was signalled to stop at Pallel PS gate but it tried to escape after which it was pursued and detained at a short distance from the PS gate.

The said seizure was made from a four-wheeler bearing Assam number where the suspected drugs were recovered from the floor of the co-driver seat of the vehicle. Around twenty-two soap cases containing suspected Heroin no. 4 powder weighing 272 gram in total were seized.

Accused persons arrested from the vehicle were identified as Paominlun a cadre of KNLF and HL. Seikhongam Mate a cadre of KNO/PAKAN.

The arrested persons along with the seized articles were handed over to Kakching Police Station for taking up further necessary legal action.
