Khawzawl: Deputy Commissioner, Khawzawl, Zothanmawia, chaired a meeting on maintenance of law and order and related subjects at DC’s Conference Hall, Friday.
The meeting was also attended by the Superintendent of Police, 2nd IR Battalion, District Village Council Association, Sub-Headquarters YMA representatives apart from officers from the DC office.
Curbing all kinds of transportation of smuggled goods across the district, maintaining good coordination among the stakeholders, and stopping illegal road constructions meant for smuggling purposes and seizing machines including materials used for illegal activities, like JCB earthmovers & vehicles were some of the decisions taken at the meeting.
The meeting also decided to revive and form Village Defence Party (VDP) at every localities/villages. And to counter the menace posed by Covid-19 second wave, the meeting decided to prepare and circulate strict standard operating procedure for the district.
