Kerala reports 20,367 new COVID cases, 20,265 recoveries

Meanwhile, 139 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 17,654.

Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 20,367 COVID-19 cases were detected in the state on Saturday while 20,265 patients were recovered from the disease, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

In a statement here this evening, the CM said “1,52,521 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 13.35 %. A total of 2,83,79,940 samples have been sent for testing till this day.”

Meanwhile, 139 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 17,654.

Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 at 266 wards under 52 Local Self Governments (LSGs) where strict restriction is being imposed.

In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
