Kerala reports 16,148 new COVID cases, 13,197 recoveries

Meanwhile, 114 recent deaths were confirmed Saturday as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 15,269.

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid-19 was newly detected in 16,148 persons in Kerala on Saturday while 13,197 patients have recovered from the disease, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
Addressing a press conference here this evening, the CM said “1,50,108 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 10.76 %. A total of 2,52,11,041 samples have been sent for testing till this day.”
Meanwhile, 114 recent deaths were confirmed Saturday as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 15,269.
Today, 205 Local Self Government areas were identified with TPR above 15 percent in the State
In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
