Imphal: In what appeared to be a huge ‘blunder’ or rather a gross misrepresentation of fact by its marketing team, Nestle India moved Manipur’s Keibul Lamjao National Park to Meghalaya in one of its wrapping papers for Nestle-Kit Kat Chocolate.

A furious Manipur government, meanwhile, asked the Gurgoan based FMCG major to immediately clarify its mistake and take necessary precautions to prevent such incidents in the future.

In a letter addressed to Suresh Narayanan, chairman and managing director at Nestle India, Dr A K Joshi, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Government of Manipur, said that this is an irresponsible act on the part of Nestle Company, which allowed this to happen without verifying the facts.

“I am utterly dismayed and disappointed at this blunder on part of your marketing team. These kinds of basic error are not expected from a prestigious and reputed company of your standard. Unfortunately, we cannot help but send this letter of complaint hoping for a fast and adequate redressal,” said Joshi in his letter.

“I hope you agree with me that this is not acceptable under any circumstances. I trust that you will deal with this issue at the earliest possible. I also hope that you will take necessary precautions to prevent such incidents in future,” Dr Joshi said.
