Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government has decided to introduce SMS based Remdesivir allocation and information system in the State to avoid its black marketing and shortage.
In a tweet, Deputy Chief Minister Ashwathnarayna said the “SMS based #Remdesivir allocation and information system is in place. In case if #Remdesivir is allocated against the SRF ID & hospital has not provided it to the patient, you can report it to the Government. This is largely to reduce misuse of the drug.”
He said that Karnataka will soon have 31 Oxygen plants.
Paediatricians air their concerns on increasing cases of Covid-19 among children and discuss the importance of effective ways of COVID Appropriate Behaviour and treatment protocol. The State government is also taking necessary precautions in this regard.
Earlier, in a tweet, Minister for Health and Medical Education K Sudhakar said in case if the #Remdesivir is allocated against the SRF ID & the hospital has not provided it to the patient, a facility is provided in the same link to report it to the government. This will help the government in curbing blackmarketing & misuse of Remdesivir.
He said in order to bring transparency in the allocation a tech-driven system has been developed and now the patient will get a SMS informing which hospital is provided the medicine against the SRF ID.
