Kangabam Jadu Singh bestowed with Ambedkar International Award 2021

The award is given by Babujagjivan Ram Kala Sanskriti & Sahitya Akademi, a Delhi-based non-profit organization that works primarily in the domain of Senior Citizens.

Imphal: Social worker Kangabam Jadu Singh of Charangpat Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district, has been conferred with Bharat Ratna Ambedkar International Award for his social work and humanity services on Wednesday.

The award is given by Babujagjivan Ram Kala Sanskriti & Sahitya Akademi, a Delhi-based non-profit organization that works primarily in the domain of Senior Citizens.

“The Akademi by honouring him also hopes that he will work throughout his life for eradication of prevailing inequality, conservativeness, Casteism and varna system for the upliftment of Dalits, Exploited Ignored Sections and Downtrodden of the Country for a New Horizon,” read in its award certificate.

Interestingly, Jadu Singh was the former President of Dalit Sena,  Lok Janashakti Party (LJP), Manipur State Unit from 2018 to January this year.

Speaking to The North East Affairs, Jadu Singh, who is currently stationed in Bengaluru, Karnataka said the award recognized his years-long social works for the upliftment of the society and added that this will encourage him to do more for the downtrodden people.
