Shillong: Major General Bhaskar Kalita, assumed the charge of Additional Director General, National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorate North East Region on Monday.
Kalita did his schooling at Sainik School Goalpara, Assam and is an alumni of NDA, Pune and IMA, Dehradun.
Commissioned into 19 Kumaon in June 1985, the General Officer has held many important Regimental, Command and staff appointments.
He was instrumental as the Chief Project Co-ordinator at HQ IDS, managing the prestigious twin project of the National War Memorial & National War Museum.
Kalita has also been awarded the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) commendation card in 2010 and Yudh Seva Medal in 2014. He belongs to the State of Assam.
