Kakching: Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, Rohit Anand, launched the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) signature campaign at the DC Office Complex in Kakching district on Wednesday. The signature campaign is being organized by the District Administration and District Social Welfare Office of Kakching district.
The signature campaign was also attended by Binoy Chongtham, Additional Superintendent of Police (Law and Order); Okram Sandhyarani, AC to DC; T. Millikan Singh, SDO Waikhong; Dr. Th. Rajen, CMO Kakching; Y. Achouba, ZEO Kakching; Nikita Thangjam, DSWO; Kakching District Level Officers, Officers and staff of District Administration Kakching, representatives of NGOs and former drug and narcotic substance abusers of Kakching district.
The Deputy Commissioner engaged in a discussion with former drug and narcotic substance abusers to gather their insights and recommendations for the effective implementation of NMBA in the Kakching district.
It may be mentioned that Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) was launched on 15th August 2020 to tackle the issue of Substance Abuse and a vision to make India Drug Free, in 272 districts identified as most vulnerable in terms of usage of drugs in the country. These vulnerable districts were identified based on the findings from the Comprehensive National Survey and the inputs provided by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
