Biren Cabinet revises minimum wages for Scheduled Employments

Dr. S. Ranjan Singh, the IPR Minister, announced that the Cabinet approved the proposal from the State Advisory Board on Minimum Wages.

Imphal: The State Cabinet has decided to revise minimum wages for 24 scheduled employments. Additionally, the Cabinet resolved to introduce the Manipur Contingency Fund Bill and the Manipur Goods and Services Taxes 7th Amendment Bill, 2024, in the upcoming Assembly session.

Speaking to the media at his official residence in Lamphel Sanakeithel, Imphal West, Dr. S. Ranjan Singh, the IPR Minister, announced that the Cabinet approved the proposal from the State Advisory Board on Minimum Wages. This approval includes revisions for Unskilled Labour, Semi-Skilled Labour, Skilled Labour, Manager/Principal/Vice Principal, and Chowkidar/Peon/Sweeper/Cleaner roles.

The Cabinet also resolved to process all transactions of centrally sponsored schemes through the Public Finance Management System (PFMS). Additionally, they decided to release Phase 2 of the compensatory crop package for farmers affected by the Law & Order crisis in the state. A total of Rs. 13,30,4314 has been approved for 2072 farmers.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the upgrade of seven accountant posts to Senior Accountant positions in the Rural Engineering Department. Out of the 16 agendas discussed, several other topics were also addressed, according to the Minister.
