Imphal: Assam Rifles, in a joint cordon and search operation with Border Security Force and Churachandpur Police recovered weapons and war like stores at the outskirts of N Bungpilon village, Churachandpur district (Manipur) on November 30, 2023.
Based on input received from own sources concerning the likely presence of weapons cache and war-like stores in general area N Bungpilon, Assam Rifles launched a joint cordon and search operation with Border Security Force and Churachandpur Police in general area N Bungpilon on November 30, 2023. A detailed joint search of the general area was carried out which led to the recovery of the following weapons cache and war like stores.
The recovered arms and ammunition include one 9 mm Pistol along with magazine, one 9mm CMG (Reg no 16198171) along with magazine, one .303 Rifle along with two rounds & magazine, two 12 bore Rifle, one Single barrel Rifle, one Radio Set (walkie Talkie), two Long range Mor (Country made), one round of 12 bore Rifle, three rounds of Long-range Mor, four Cartridge 38 mm Anti Riot with Rubber Bullet Ammunition (AFK Pune), two Tear Smoke Shell Soft Nose (50 mtr), two Tear smoke shell (CS) 135 +-10m, one Tear smoke shell (Normal) 135 +-10 M, one Tear smoke shell (SARP) 135 +-10 M and one Stinger Cartridge 50+-10M.
The recovered weapons and war-like stores have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation, according to a press note from the PRO HQ IGAR(S).
