JK Police arrests 3 drug peddlers, recovers 12 kg charas

The accused were arrested and a case under relevant sections of law has been registered against them, police said and added that further investigation was taken up in this matter.

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested three drug peddlers during a Naka and recovered contraband from their possession at Bijbehara in the south Kashmir district of Anantnag, a Police spokesman said.

He said police established a Naka at Bijbehara on a tip-off and frisked three persons, identified as Mehraj Ahmad Sheikh, Mohammad Altaf Baluki and Rayees Ahmad Lone.

During a search, 12 kg Charas powder was recovered from their possession.

The accused were arrested and a case under relevant sections of law has been registered against them, police said and added that further investigation was taken up in this matter.
