J&K: 2 soldiers, militant killed in Shopian gunfight

Srinagar: Two soldier of the Army’s counter insurgency unit and a militant were killed in a gun battle in Kashmir on Saturday, official sources said.

The gun battle erupted at Chermarg Zainapora village in South Kashmir’s Shopian district when joint teams of police, Army and CRPF were carrying a cordon and a search operation following an input about the presence of a militant in the area.

“In the ensuing gunfight two soldiers were killed ” official sources said.

Police have also confirmed the death of a militant. Police said search operation is still going on.
