Gangtok: Indo -Tibetan Border Police Assistant Sub-Inspector has been arrested from the Winter Residence of a VIP, at Rangpo. A resident of quarters there has been accused of raping a minor.
The mother of a 13-year-old girl lodged a report against him when the girl got pregnant.
She has complained that her daughter has been repeatedly raped for a long by the accused, who belongs to Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand.
A case under sections 4 & 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) has been registered. The victim was examined medically.
The mother has also complained against a teenager for raping her daughter for a long time. He has been detained by Police.
However, how the crime has been taking place for a long time without anyone reporting to the concerned, is also being questioned.
