Tehran: Iran’s Navy on Sunday took delivery of new homegrown armament, including cruise missile systems and helicopters, in a ceremony in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, the official news agency IRNA reported.

The handover ceremony, which was held in Konarak County, was attended by Army Commander Abdolrahim Mousavi, Navy Commander Shahram Irani and other senior military officials, the report said.

The weapons and equipment include the Talayieh and Nasir cruise missile systems, helicopters equipped with homegrown electronic warfare systems or capable of reconnaissance operations, and the carrier-launched kamikaze drone, among others, according to IRNA.

Irani told the ceremony that the Talayieh system has an operational range of 1,000 km and could change directions in flight, while the Nasir with a 100-km range has high destructive power and could be installed on rocket launching vessels of different classes.
