International Women’s Day celebrated in various districts of Manipur

In Churachandpur, women from various self-help groups under Lamka TD Block gathered at Synod Hall, IB Road, to celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday.

Imphal: The International Women’s was celebrated across Manipur under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” 

In Churachandpur, women from various self-help groups under Lamka TD Block gathered at Synod Hall, IB Road, to celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday. The event was jointly organized by the Block Mission Management Unit, MSRLM and the District Administration, Churachandpur.

The chief guest of the event, Mannuamching, District Nodal Officer (Relief Camp), urged the participants to invest more resources in women to achieve faster development. She said that educating girls was the key to creating a better family, society and nation. She appealed to the parents to ensure that their daughters get equal opportunities in every field to make a life for themselves.

In Kangpokpi,the One Stop Centre Kangpokpi, under the supervision of the District Administration Kangpokpi, organised a simple function at the DIET Relief Centre in Leikop, observing the day along with the women at the centre.

Chandel District also celebrated the International Women’s Day at Conference Hall, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chandel. The programme was attended by SDO Chakpikarong, SDCs HQ Chandel, DPO ICDS, Chandel, DPM Chandel, Supervisors, AWWs and Officials from line departments of Chandel District.

Mayanglambam Rajkumar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel said that as we celebrate International Women’s Day, let’s commit to creating a world where every woman and girl can thrive, free from discrimination and inequality. By working together to dismantle barriers, challenge stereotypes, and promote gender equity, we can build a brighter, more inclusive future for all. Today and every day, let’s honor the achievements of women past, present, and future, and continue the march towards gender equality.
