Ukhrul: The International Day for differently abled persons has been organised at DRDA Hall, Ukhrul today by the District Administration in collaborations with District Social Welfare (DSWO), District Disability Rehabilitation Centre and Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development Rehabilitation Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Imphal(CRCSRE).
Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul District Shri. krishna Kumar,IAS graced the function as the Chief Guest in the presence of DSWO Shri. Kanghujam Nongpoknganba Salaicha and Nodal Officer DDRC Shri. Yuman Dhanbir Singh who were functional president and the Guest of Honour respectively.
Altogether 50 differently abled persons were distributed Aid and Appliances like wheelchair, walking stick, hearing aid, cluster elbow and blankets.
Chief Guest Shri. krishna Kumar IAS, spoke at the gathering by encouraging differently abled persons in the district to avail different schemes the centre and state has provided to them. The district administration is also striving to reach out through different mechanism so as to enable them bring equilibrium in the society. Meanwhile he also encourages to get registered in the electoral roll under PWD and avail special facilities provided.
