Indian Army ensures swift rescue and evacuation of injured women

Kangpokpi: The Indian Army once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment towards safeguarding civilian lives by undertaking a swift and coordinated rescue operation in the Leplen–Thingpibung area on 21 Mar 26.

At approximately 10 AM, vehicles moving from Leplen towards Saikul came under crossfire in a sensitive area. The sudden exchange of fire caused panic, leading to both vehicles skidding off the road. Two male passengers sustained minor injuries, while one lady suffered a susceptible gunshot wound.

Troops of the Indian Army, deployed in the vicinity, responded immediately despite the prevailing tense situation. Displaying exceptional courage and professionalism, the Indian Army reached the incident site and provided first aid.

Subsequently, through effective coordination and sustained efforts under challenging conditions, all injured were quickly evacuated to Tinpibung village from where the critically injured lady was further evacuated to Saikul for advanced medical treatment.

The prompt response and decisive action by the Indian Army averted potential loss of life and underscores its steadfast commitment to peace, stability, and humanitarian assistance in the region
