Imphal: Manipur Police and troops of Phundrei Battalion in a joint operation on Fridayfoiled a possible strike by unknown persons by recovering an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and a grenade near JNV, Umathel village, Kakching district.
Assam Rifles official said based on specific inputs, troops of Assam Rifles along with Manipur police launched a joint operation which led to the recovery of IED and a grenade.
The IED and grenades were meant to be planted against Security Forces. Later, recovered items were disposed off by Manipur Police bomb squad.
