Imphal: Manipur Police on Sunday seized 3 kg of heroin from a person identified as Md. Somir.
Imphal East SP, Ksh Shivakanta said on Monday, displaying the seized drug at the Imphal East police station, that the drug was hidden in 265 soap cases in a four-wheeler bearing a West Bengal registration number.
A police team managed to seize the drug after a hot chase. The arrested person revealed that the drug belonged to a drug dealer from Lilong, Thoubal district, and he was offered Rs 25000 to transport the drug to Guwahati.
An FIR was registered at Heingang Police Station under the NDPS Act. The operation to nab other involved people was going on, the SP said.
