New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday held a meeting with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval in wake of fresh targeted killings in the Kashmir valley.
RAW chief Samant Goel was also present in the meeting.
The meeting came in spate of continuing targeted killing of civilians in the Valley. On Friday, Home Minister will hold a meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to review the security situation in the Union Territory.
A bank manager from Rajasthan was shot dead in a yet another targeted attack in broad daylight in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning, triggering widespread condemnation.
The attack took place two days after a 36-year-old teacher from Samba, Rajni Bala, was killed in the same district.
The spree of targeted killing has sparked fresh fears among Kashmiri Pandit employees, recruited under the Prime Minister’s special rehabilitation package, and Hindu employees from Jammu and other states posted in the Kashmir Valley.
Meanwhile, one migrant labourer was killed and another injured in a targeted attack in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening, officials said.
Police said the two labourers working at a brick kiln in Chadoora area of Budgam were fired upon by the militants.
They were shifted to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital for treatment, of which one succumbed to his injuries, they added.
“Terrorists fired upon 02 outside labourers working in a Brick Kiln in Chadoora area of Budgam. The duo was shifted to hospital for treatment where one among them succumbed,” a police tweet said.
This was the second such incident of the day.
