Himachal collected over Rs 2,431 cr in GST till Oct

He said the cumulative GST revenue growth so far in the current year is 44 per cent. The state GST revenues collection has continuously registered positive growth in the current financial year despite restrictions resulting from the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, he added.

Hamirpur: The department of state taxes and excise collected Rs 328.55 crore in September 2021. The cumulative GST collections in the current financial year till October 2021 stand at Rs 2,431.19 crore against Rs 1,694.04 crore same time last year, according to an official spokesman.

He said the cumulative GST revenue growth so far in the current year is 44 per cent. The state GST revenues collection has continuously registered positive growth in the current financial year despite restrictions resulting from the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, he added.

He said that some of the important factors for maintaining a positive growth rate include monitoring of top taxpayers, regular review of the performance of the field functionaries, effective enforcement activities by the department, and physical verifications of e-way bills, etc.

The performance of the field functionaries has been enhanced by upgrading their technical skills through various capacity-building measures.
