Imphal: Social Welfare and MAHUD Minister, Henry Okram inaugurated the 12th Annual Art Exhibition including Photography 2020 at Imphal Art College Wednesday.
The four-day-long (March 17-20,2020) Art Exhibition including Photography 2020 is being organised by Arts Society Manipur.
Speaking as the chief guest of the function, Henry Okram stated that Manipur is endowed with rich art and culture and has produced many acclaimed artists in various fields including sculpture, paintings etc. He hoped that more artists will bring more laurels for the state in the National and International competitions.
On the exhibition, he said that such exhibition creates a space for young artists to showcase their ideas, creativity, expressions and talents. After hearing the problems and grievances faced by the artists of the state, Henry Okram informed that he will request Chief Minister N Biren Singh to look into the matter.
On the occasion, Henry Okram handed over the 12th Annual Art Award 2020 and Honourable Mention of the 12th Annual Art Award 2020 to Waribam Nelopal Devi and Sairem Satyajit Singh respectively.
Principal, Imphal Art College, A Hemanta Singh, President, Arts Society Manipur, Y Nabachandra Singh, various artists and others attended the function.
