Grand alliance to win 40 of 47 seats in first phase of election in Assam: State Cong chief

Guwahati: Assam Congress Unit president Ripun Bora has said that the Grand Alliance will win at least 40 out of 47 seats that go to polls in the first phase of elections in the State.
“We will win at least 40 out of 47 seats in the first phase of elections,” asserted Assam Congress President Ripun Bora.
Total 47 seats in Assam will go to polls in the first phase of Assam Assembly elections on March 27.
Ripun Bora further expressed confidence that the Assam Congress-led Grand Alliance would form the next Government in Assam.
“The Congress-led Grand Alliance will form the next Government in Assam. BJP will be ousted,” said Bora.
Meanwhile, the party today said that it will contest out of the 47 seats going to polls in the first phase, Congress will contest in 43 seats and the rest will be fought by its partners in the Grand Alliance.
