Hyderabad: Godrej Agrovet Ltd., the largest oil palm plantation company in India, on Thursday announced to set up a state-of-the-art Edible Oil Processing plant in Telangana with an investment of Rs 250 Crore.
The proposed 30 TPH plant which is expandable to 60 TPH, would come up at Khammam district in the state.
This would be the single largest private investment in Khammam district and this facility will process palm oil.
This was announced by Balram Singh Yadav, Managing Director for Godrej Agrovet Ltd after meeting with Telangana Industries Minister K .T Rama Rao here.
Informing the Minister about its investment plans,Balram assured him that this is one of the many initiatives under consideration across various business verticals.
The company plans to operate at full scale by 2025-26 in the proposed facility, he said the factory will be self-sufficient in power requirements with a co-generation plant.
Palm Oil farmers will be serviced through 10 (Ten) Godrej Samadhan centres (1 existing + ~9 planned), Balram said currently, the company is present across 10 mandals in Telangana in Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts in the state.
