Gas leak in Punjab factory claims nine lives

Ludhiana: At least four persons were feared dead and several others adversely affected due to gas leak on Sunday in Gyaspura industrial area of Ludhiana.

Police have cordoned off the entire area. Senior police officials including ADCP Sameer Verma have reached the spot.

However, police did not disclose the source of the gas leak or extent of the damage and said the matter was being investigated.

Meanwhile, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that police, administration and NDRF teams have already reached the spot and rescue and relief operations were underway. Every possible help is being provided.
