Patna:former BJP Vice President of Bihar unit Rajiv Ranjan joined the ruling Janata Dal-United along with his supporters on Sunday.
Rajiv Ranjan joined JDU in the presence of party state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha and national president Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh here in the JDU office.
After joining the party Rajiv Ranjan called on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the latter’s official residence.
On this occasion, Lalan Singh said that Rajiv Ranjan has returned to his original party.
Singh said Nitish Kumar was striving for the development of every section of the society and the developmental schemes initiated by him whether it be tap water supply to every household, electricity supply to every household cycle scheme or uniform scheme, everything was being adopted by the centre.
The JDU leader said Kumar in 2010 had said that he would not seek votes till he improved the electricity scenario in the state. Now electricity is available from 22 to 24 hours. He said the Prime Minister during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections had assured to provide two crore employment annually and pay Rs 15 lakh in the account of every person. but now he does not utter a single word about his promise.
The JDU State president Umesh Singh Kushwaha welcomed Rajiv Ranjan to the party and said that his self-respect and dignity would be protected here. He also hoped that Rajiv Ranjan would help JDU in its mission of uprooting BJP from power.
