Churachandpur: On a breezy evening at VRF Turf, Muolvaiphei, the air crackled with excitement as Footgal 3.0 – a six-girls-a-side night Futsal tournament—began spectacularly. Organised by the District Administration of Churachandpur, this colourful event aims to honor and raise awareness for the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative’s ten-year milestone.
Dharun Kumar S, Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, attended the opening ceremony as the Chief, which was attended by a full-capacity crowd. Prakhar Pandey, SP, and District-Level Officers and students formed a very important part of the occasion. The event featured the presentation of the BBBP Anthem by local artists and a spectacular choreography display. Additionally, the ceremony included the BBBP Pledge-taking event led by Shri Thangboi Gangte, ADC.

In his address, Dharun Kumar S emphasized the importance of equality and opportunity in all walks of life. He stressed the need to encourage girls in various aspects such as socio-economic, political, education, sports, arts, and other aesthetic pursuits for their holistic growth and to give them a meaningful purpose in life. He added that education helps everyone on tangible grounds by making women financially and emotionally independent.
The District Election Office, in its endeavor to garner support from electors towards accessible and inclusive elections through the purification of electoral rolls, conducted Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaignwhere they explained the process for new registration, correction of details, replacement of EPIC, and who they can contact if they need help.
The tournament’s opening match was officially kicked off by the Chief Guest, Dharun Kumar S. The event, featuring 22 teams, is set to continue until March 7, 2025.
